As its well over 2 years since my last blog post, I thought I should catch up a bit. The last 2 years I’ve been focusing on leading the music for a pretty big upcoming game, which has pretty much taken most of my time and attention. Plus I’ve moved house, and am busy setting up something pretty cool (excuses, excuses!). Until I can announce details of the game, I’ve decided to write about a few other things that have happened, either quite recently, or possibly going back a bit further. We’ll see how this pans out!

So my first little blog is a belated announcement that I was thrilled and honoured to be selected as a judge for the 2019 Juno Awards. The ceremony took place in March, but the judging stretched from the end of 2018 to Feb 2019. Without waxing too lyrical, I was really blown away by the talent that we have across Canada, in all aspects from songwriting, production, engineering, mixing and performing. We’ve always had some pretty massive superstars come out of the great white north, but I sense that the music industry across all levels, from those superstars to the most indie of artists and everything in between, across all genres, has been on the up & up over the last 5-10 years. Yay Canada! Congrats to all the nominees and winners – keep doing what you’re doing.
